QUICK FIT GUIDELINES

While sitting on or riding your bicycle, place your heels on the pedals. Set your saddle height so that at the bottom of the pedal stroke (the six o'clock position) there is no bend in your knee. When you ride, the ball of your foot should be on the pedal, and your knee slightly bent at the bottom.

Your handlebar should be at least the width of your shoulders. For sport riders, adjust bar height to be roughly level with the saddle. For higher performance, it should be lower than the saddle. Do not raise the stem above its Minimum Insert Mark!

Tilt the saddle so that it is comfortable. This is usually level, but might be slightly tipped up or down, depending on your flexibility and handlebar position.

A highly refined fit develops during the course of many years and thousands of miles. Measure your fit and try to duplicate it on other bikes that you have, and record any small changes that you make.

CUSTOM FITTING

The fit of your bicycle affects everything about your relationship to the bike. If it fits well, it is easy to forget about the bike and enjoy the ride. Flaws in fit will become immediately evident, and can make any ride much less fulfilling.

Full-body positioning for the cyclist, taking into account physical proportions, flexibility, history of injury, performance goals, and desired handling characteristics for the intended use of the bicycle.

Paul has fitted nearly two thousand cyclists, including beginners, sport
riders, tourists, and competitive racers, and has designed custom frames with some of the most respected manufacturers.

We can fine tune the ride of your old faithful, or make sure your new bike is spot-on for your first ride.
