MASI MOMENTS

Quickly gaining notoriety among cyclists for such quality, Masi bikes nearly became a household name in the 1979 movie "Breaking Away" in which actor Dennis Christopher rode a 1978 Masi Gran Criterium.

A brand born out of a love for cycling and a passion for superior craftsmanship.

When Faliero Masi founded his company in the 1930s he quickly earned a reputation for building breathtakingly beautiful steel bikes, fused by precisely shaped lugs, and crisply defined torchwork. His bikes were so absolutely dialed he became known as “The Tailor,” for his made-to-measure perfection.

Today, steel is just one material of choice for racing bikes. Now, lightweight alternatives like aluminum, or aluminum/carbon hybrids, offer even greater performance potential. Today’s Masi uses every technical advantage available, to continue Faliero’s quest for the ultimate performance racer. Every Masi we build is a thoroughbred. That’s why they accelerate with snap, why you can sling them into corners with confidence and know that you’ll come out fast, and come up smiling.

Masi’s uncompromising ideals and passion for cycling are still evident in the bikes produced more than seventy years after the company was founded. They’re tailor made to meet the demands of today's riders, just the way Faliero intended.

3vc

Built with the same frame and fork as the Dura Ace model, there’s a lot to love about this bike. With Shimano’s venerable Ultegra group, you get all of the same race winning features, but you get to have your bike and eat too. This machine lacks nothing but your power to propel it down the road. Let the miles tick away day after day, month after month and year after year. It won’t take long to understand why carbon has become so popular as a frame material. The 3VC eats up ripples in the road and keeps you comfortable mile after mile after mile.

fixed

A runaway hit in its first year, the Speciale Fixed comes back with an upgraded lugged fork and two color options. The Fixed is the best of both worlds with its flip-flop hub for either a fixed or free drivetrain. The geometry is nearly smack-dab in the middle of road and track so that you can choose to live in either world whenever the mood strikes. The honest-to-goodness rear track dropouts (or fork ends, for you purists), are perfect for adjusting your gearing to fit the needs of the day. Along with the custom dropouts, the frame also has cable guides for those who prefer two brakes to one and a full compliment of bottle bosses so you can take your water bottles out of your jersey on those long winter training rides. Basically, we thought of it all so you wouldn’t have to- you can thank us later.

cx

The steel counterpart to the CXR, but with a slightly less aggressive nature, the Speciale CX is a classic beauty. Suited to getting dirty on your favorite cross course or maybe even a little light touring, or all-round city commuting. With rack and fender mounts and plenty of clearance for muddy tires, it’s the humble jack-of-all-trades. We challenge you to find a better looking bike at a better price, but only because we know there isn’t one.

commuter

Here’s a true chameleon – out of the box with one gear, but with a derailleur hanger and all the necessary braze-ons and guides to be converted to a geared bike. It’s all up to you and your imagination because we don’t like limitations any more than you do. How can you go wrong with classic touches like the simple randonneur handle bars, Dia-Compe long reach caliper brakes and long horizontal drop outs? It’s a classic bike that’s ready for further customization to suit your tastes, as well as your dreams.

soulville

Soul. It’s a big word for only having four letters in it. The word conjures up lots of things for lots of people, but for us it signifies the kind of feeling you get when you throw a leg over this bike and simply cruise around with a gigantic smile on your face. Some bikes have soul, some bikes don’t- this bike has so much soul it worked its way into the name with prominent placement. The SoulVille is a work of art in steel with graceful curves that show up in the frame, the handlebars and even the very simple fenders. An unpretentious internal 8 speed drivetrain keeps things uncomplicated, right down to the coaster brake (perfect for riding around town with coffee in hand). The custom leather saddle is just another touch of pure elegance and simplicity. Have you got soul? Yeah, we thought so.
